Our story begins with three brothers and a shared love of the natural world.
Our Inspiration
The people, experiences, and values that gave rise to the Vosti Foundation.
A tradition of generosity and family.
Together with their wives, Joan, Anne, and Marcia, they built families, friendships, and traditions rooted in generosity, stewardship, curiosity, and appreciation for the natural world. Their love of nature was matched by their commitment to family and community, and the values they passed down continue to inspire generations.
A lifelong appreciation for nature.
The Vosti Foundation was inspired by the lives of three brothers: Donald, Kenneth, and Gordon Vosti, who grew up on a ranch in Modesto, California, and shared a lifelong love of the outdoors. Whether fishing the Klamath river, hiking in the Sierra Nevada, gardening at home, or gathering with family in Yosemite, they believed that time spent in nature enriched lives and strengthened communities.
A legacy carried forward.
The Vosti Foundation was established to carry those values forward by bringing people together to care for the natural places that enrich our lives and communities.
